Software Update December 2019

December 11, 2019
This release includes important maintenance items required to keep your software running and up-to-date with 3rd party vendors as well. We are also announcing the request for beta testers of the new benefit tracking feature available to Pro edition customers.
Benefit Tracking - Looking for beta testers - Pro Edition customers only
Many of you allow members to pick their membership package based on their desired involvement, making it easier for them to see what value your association brings to them.

With this model of packaging memberships, commonly referred to as tiered dues, being an ever-popular way to offer memberships, GrowthZone has completed initial development that will provide benefit tracking for benefit packages and benefit items. (See screenshot on the right)

This feature will also include the ability to offer event discounts as part of benefit options, displaying the available discount offerings to members when registering for the event. Tracking will be automatic in this case.

Tracking will also be available to manually record one-off usage (e.g., conference room usage, free membership mailing labels, etc).

How to become a beta tester
The main work for this feature is completed and we are now looking for additional beta testers. Please contact indicate your interest. Pro Edition is required to use this new feature and to be a tester.

Note: Tracking can be added for a member even after the year has started, so you can plan already now that your tracking will be much simpler next year, no matter when you get on-board with this upcoming feature.

How to know when this feature is ready for all
Watch for upcoming announcements and information on your Dashboard about this new great feature for 2020! It's going to be a great year!

QuickBooks Online
The export of accounting transactions to QuickBooks Online using the Journal Entry Export has been updated to keep our integration aligned with industry standards and meet updated requirements from Intuit. No changes should be visible or will be noticed when using this connection - it is all behind the scenes work.

Deleting an Event
Now when deleting an event that is the original event in a recurring event series, you will receive an additional warning message in red lettering that warns you that all the associated occurrences will also be deleted. This extra warning will help remind you of the full effect of removing what might appear to be only a stand-alone event.

Various v4 Public Module Updates

  • Membership Application: The phone number formatting for your database will now be honored when a phone number is entered on v4 of the membership application. This will now match how it already works in v3 of the membership application.
  • Blog: Required fields when commenting on a blog post will now display with an asterisk, as typically expected to denote a required field.
  • Event calendar: Using a query string in the URL to filter to a specific day will now return expected results.
Emailing Youtube Videos
Several email sending location in the software were updated to support sending of Youtube videos using the YouTube icon in the toolbar - Event Invitations, eReferrals and Form Letters.

Providing new features and more benefits is something that GrowthZone is committed to. Software release features are often generated from your feature requests. Those requests may be combined or adapted to fit with other requests or in response to industry related changes. We listen, evaluate, and implement based on greatest impact, most-requested, ability to integrate, and time-saving implication. In evaluating the benefit of one software release over another, please understand that sometimes the updates have required significant programming time but are not always visible in tangible terms. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and your members.
