February 2013 Software Update

February 22, 2013

The way we “show the love” at MicroNet is delivering fresh new software updates. Our February release is our Valentine to our customers and is brimming with new features. Check out the new features and best practice tips below.

Tracking Tiered Membership Dues?
New options for bundling fees and providing event discounts*
*Available with Plus edition only

Event Discounts by Membership Type

Discounts are allowed now by Membership Type, which gives great flexibility to grant discounted, free, or included benefits to specific membership types. Total discounts used per event may be specified and a separate limit per registration is also available.  In addition, a New Promo Code Discount is also available which provides yet another method for adding value in a variety of situations. (See below)  You may also provide additional event benefits based on membership type.  Watch this example of providing Priority Seating to your Gold members.

Bundled Fee Items

Now you can create a new fee item that contains all the fees that comprise the bundle.  Invoices will only display the title of the Bundled Item but your billing reports will track each item back to the desired income area.  Event items may be included in the bundle but we suggest that it's a best practice to include an appropriate matching event discount to ensure event income is properly stated.  For instance, if you include two tickets to the Annual Banquet in your Gold membership bundle, then be sure to setup a discount for that Gold member on the Annual Banquet that allows two tickets at $0.00.  Available only to those using our integrated native Billing module.

Targeted Discounts for Event Attendees
Create your own promo code discount*
*Available with Plus edition only

Provide discounted event pricing to individuals that enter your custom promo code.

Create a Promo Code on your Event Fees tab and then post your promo code on specific advertising so you can track the effectiveness of the ad or provide this promo code to a select group of attendees.  Create multiple codes for each event if desired.  Limits on usage are available at the event level and registration level.

Drag and Drop Group order
Pick your own display order

Click and drag on the blue handle to the left of your group member to place them in the desired order which is reflected on the printed output, the download list and also especially helpful for arranging the order of the members displayed on your public website.

Implement the newly introduced Committee/Board member module* (Groups module) public display option.  Show a board or committee member list on your website simply by turning on the "Public Group" checkbox on the Groups->General tab.

*Available to those with v2 or v3 public modules.

Login as a Member
See what your member sees

Have you ever wondered exactly what your member sees but didn't want to take the time to lookup their login and access their account? Now you can see what they see by clicking "Login as Member" located on the blue bar across the top of the Members module.

Those that have individual rep logins may also login as each rep by clicking the desired reps name, and then clicking the "Login" link next to their name on the Reps tab.  If the "Login" link is missing, you may not have a login name created for this rep. And make sure you've clicked the Rep Name first in order to display the "Login" link.

When clicking any of these "login" links, a warning will display if the Member Information Center v 3.0 is not turned on for your members reminding you that your screen will be displaying the new Member Information Center v 3.0 but your members will still be viewing things with v 1.0.  Allow your members to use the new Member Information Center anytime by selecting v 3.0 Home Page Appearance under Setup->Member Login Area Options & Settings. See what extra features are available to you when selecting the new Member Information Center.

Other Updates

Member Information Center v3:

  • Now all members may upload logos, photos, and update other enhanced listing items.  Previously the ability to enhance these items was only available to those customers with the Marketing Package and to members with an enhanced listing. However, we believe it is important that all members have ability to upload their marketing information into the Member Information Center, which will install a best practice habit of keeping their Member Center up-to-date and looking good.  These enhanced items will display inside the Member Center to enhance member marketing and available information among members.  At such time that the Marketing Package is added on and/or the member is upgraded to an enhanced listing, these photos, logos, and updated descriptions will already be available and will show immediately to the public.
Events:
  • Copy Past Event will now also include the time of the past event as part of what is copied forward.
  • The limit of 100 Additional Attendees has been removed from the logic behind the Event guest registration.
  • Single Invitees on an event invitation list may be now be removed instead of removing the full list. Click the x at the end of the invitee name.

  • Member Growth was updated to correctly report number of active members in specific date range.
